ICNC Spring Annual Seminar Something to "Tweet" About

4/7/2014

ICNC Annual meetingICNC Meeting a Success! Tweet, Tweet.
After being introduced by Mistress of Ceremony, Carol Kellog, Fairfield Chapter President, Denise DuBrino welcomed the attendees and likened the ICNC 2014 Annual Spring Seminar as the infection control version of the “Hunger Games.” This was it; the day had come when the Fairfield Chapter saw all their planning and hard work come to fruition. The seminar, held at the beautiful Aqua Turf Club hosted 120 attendees and 28 vendors.

Present, four presenters, each an expert in their field providing insight and strategies for attendees to plan, prioritize and implement an infection control plan that will meet the standards and regulations for a State Survey, “how to” report outbreaks within a facility, meet requirements for employee and occupational health; pulling everything together, ideas and strategies using quality assurance in order to continuously improve services for our residents/patients, reducing risk of injuries and limiting waste.

During the sit down lunch ICNC’s new Webmaster, Gary Fustino, was available via the internet to unveil and showcase the new and improved website he designed for the organization making it more interactive, modern and compatible with tablets and smart phones.  Elections for a new Executive Board were held with Kris Magnussen, RN, MSN being voted in as President, Susan Dubb, RN, AMET Vice-President, Jennifer Green, RN Secretary and Christine Orris, RN, Treasurer.

Congratulations to the Fairfield Chapter for hosting a tremendous annual seminar which was approved for 4.75 contact hours. Power Point presentations from the seminar are available in the Member Portal under Membership to ICNC Members. If you were unable to attend this year, we hope you will join us next year, Friday, April 17, 2015.

At the seminar, each chapter tries to provide speakers for all levels of IP's and different from the past
We encourage IP's to join their local chapter to gain valuable information, network with others, receive blast e-mails/information and much more
Get involved: many hands make less work - and it's fun
