Kris Magnussen, MSN, RN-BC
President
krismrn@msn.com Kris is the Communicable Disease Prevention Supervisor for Ledge Light Health District. A nurse for over 37 years, Kris has had a varied career from critical care/trauma, running clinics in Saudi Arabia to staff development/infection prevention in Long Term Care. She is a Clinical Associate II at the UCONN School of Nursing and adjunct faculty at the University of Hartford. Kris lectures extensively on infection prevention, communicable diseases and emergency preparedness.

Karen Taylor,MSN, RN-BC, CIC
Vice-President
Karen has been a nurse for 32 years,specializing in Infection Prevention for the past 15 years. She received her BSN from Fairfield University and her MSN from the University of Hartford. Karen teaches “Infection Prevention in the Healthcare setting”, a course designed for the beginner Infection Preventionist & also teaches advanced classes for the experienced ICP. Karen also works as a clinical nursing instructor & adjunct faculty member for Gateway Community College.
She has lectured throughout New England on topics related to Infection Prevention. | |

Nancy Gillies, RN
Treasurer
Nancy has 14 years experience in Long Term care as Nursing Supervisor, Staff Development Coordinator, Infection Control Nurse, IV Coordinator, Employee Health Nurse, and Wound Care Coordinator. Prior to her dedicated Long Term Care Care service, she worked for 10 years as Assistant Head Nurse in Pediatrics at Nassau County Medical Center, East Meadow, NY; She also served for 16 years as a Registered Nurse at Windham Community Memorial Hospital, Willimantic, CT in various position in Pediatrics and Adult Medical-Surgical units.

Jasper has been a nurse for the past 14 years. He previously worked as Critical Care nurse, Infection Control nurse, and Nurse Instructor. He finished his undergraduate degree from Bicol University-Philippines and his graduate degree from Xavier University-Cincinnati, OH. He works passionately as a nurse and tinker with his computer as a hobby.
